Old town serial number search

The Old Town canoe with hull identicification number XTC99002Y74K and serial number 199002 is an 18 foot long FG (fiberglass) model that weighed 101 pounds. It was built between January and February, 1974. The original exterior gelcoat colors were blue with desert white. It shipped on June 20th, 1974 to East Greenwich, Rhode Island. The back side of this record shows that there was a patch on the stern seat and light gelcoat on the deck. Scans showing both sides of this build record can be found below.

These scans and several hundred thousand more were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others as you probably know well. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will donate, join, or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See https://www.woodencanoe.org/about to learn more about the WCHA and https://www.woodencanoe.org/shop to donate or join.

It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match the canoe. The 1974 catalog at https://adirondack.pastperfectonline.com/Library/C0ACFFDE-A79A-4E23-8183-728343528600 describes this model on page eight. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions.

Yes, the catalog weight was 89 pounds at the time so this one was a bit over that.
