The Old Town boat with serial number 110867 is a 16 foot, CS (common sense) grade, Yankee model with western cedar planking, open spruce gunwales, oak decks, probably oak thwarts and seats (the build record is not clear, but seems to have ditto marks indicating oak), a keel and a floor rack. The build record shows no dates related to construction, but it was shipped on March 19, 1932, suggesting that it was built in early 1932 or late 1931. The original exterior paint color as spruce green. It was shipped to R.H. Macy & Co., in Long Island City, Queens, NY (where the famous Manhattan department store’s warehouse was located until the 1980’s). A scan of this build record can be found by following the link behind the thumbnail image attached below.
This scan and several hundred thousand others were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at
http://www.wcha.org/ot_records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will join or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See
http://www.wcha.org/about-the-wcha/ to learn more about the WCHA and

It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match your canoe. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions.
