My guess is that you may have the Old Town with serial number 98820. This is a 16 foot long, AA (or top) grade, square stern model with red western cedar planking, open mahogany gunwales, 48 inch mahogany decks, mahogany thwarts, mahogany seats, a keel, outside stems, a floor rack, and bilge keels. It may have originally had sponsons as well. This was built between 1928 and February, 1929. The original exterior paint color was dark green. It shipped on May, 28th, 1929 to Rainbow Lake, New York. A scan showing this build record can be found below.
This scan and several hundred thousand more were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at
http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will donate, join or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See
https://www.woodencanoe.org/about to learn more about the WCHA and
https://www.woodencanoe.org/shop to donate or join.
It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match. See
http://www.wcha.org/forums/index.php?attachments/15063/ for the page describing it in the 1951 catalog. The full catalog from 1931 is available from
https://woodencanoemuseum.org/index.php/manufacturer-catalog/old-town-canoe-company-1931 if you want more details. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions.
