Hi Benson, Thanks. The sheet says it had a hard racing green bottom. Any idea what that means. I removed fiberglass and saw no sign of a paint job under it. Do you think they glassed the bottom at the factory?

The fiberglass bottom is not likely to have been put on at the factory in 1954. I am not aware of any experimentation with fiberglass prior to Walter King's arrival from White in the mid 1960s. My guess is that someone sanded all of the original paint off during a prior repair for good adhesion to the new fiberglass bottom. Good luck with the restoration,
