Old Town canoe

I just purchased an Old Town and am curious as to what model it is. Tag on side is Xtc03719m75b
Serial is 203719
It's a project canoe that's for sure. From beaching it over the years the previous owner wore the bow and stern down well into the foam. I am good with epoxy, bonds, fiberglass and Kevlar repair so I'm hoping it will be a good project.

Welcome, the Old Town canoe with serial number 203719 and hull identification number XTC03719M75B is a 17 foot long Chipewyan Tripper model that weighed 74 pounds. It was built in September, 1974. The original exterior color was blue. It shipped on September 17th, 1974 to Austin, Texas. The back side of the card shows that the warranty card was returned on February 15th from Austin, Texas. Scans showing both sides of this build record can be found below.

These scans and several hundred thousand more were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will donate, join, or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See https://www.woodencanoe.org/about to learn more about the WCHA and https://www.woodencanoe.org/shop to donate or join.

It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match the canoe. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions. Good luck with the project,

Benson
