I recently purchased the captioned canoe from a barn in upstate NY, can you please forward any information on it
Thanks,
John

The Old Town canoe with serial number 19386 is an 18 foot long, AA (or top) grade, Charles River model with red western cedar planking, closed mahogany gunwales, mahogany decks, mahogany thwarts, mahogany seats, spruce finish rails, a keel, and a floor rack. It was built between November, 1911 and May, 1912. The original exterior paint color was dark green. It was shipped on May 29th, 1912 to Walton, New York. A scan of this build record can be found by following the link at the thumbnail image attached below.

This scan and several hundred thousand others were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/ot_records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will join or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See http://www.wcha.org/about-the-wcha/ to learn more about the WCHA and http://store.wcha.org/WCHA-New-Membership.html to join.

Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions. Congratulations on your purchase,

Benson

Thank you Benson. It was actually purchased about 20 minutes from where it was delivered in Walton. Other then a couple of pieces missing which the owner had its in great shape, of course no canvas and it came with the 2 paddles.
