Curious about Wooden Canoes
My brother-in-law just picked up this one family owned canoe. Decal is still visible. Any info is appreciated. Thanks, Bob

The Old Town canoe with serial number 38569 is a 17 foot long, CS grade, Charles River model with red Western cedar planking, closed spruce gunwales, birch decks, birch trim, a keel, and a floor rack. It was built between May and July, 1915. The original exterior paint color was dark green. It shipped on April 11th, 1916 to Hillsdale, Michigan. This scan and several hundred thousand others were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others as you probably know well.
