Welcome and congratulations, the Old Town canoe with serial number 175926 is 17 foot long Molitor model with a keel, and outside stems. It was built between March and May, 1966. The original exterior paint color was similar to the image at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/designs/design46.gif which was known as the design number 46. It shipped on July 26th, 1966 to Upper Saddle River, New Jersey. A scan of this build record can be found below.
This scan and several hundred thousand others were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. Thank you so much for the information. My Old Town Is not canvas any more the canvas was taken off maybe 25 years ago and replaced with
fiberglass. I got the canoe from my father after
the work was already done. If its possible can you give me some information on what it might be worth because I'm thinking about selling it and I have no idea. The numbers I gave you are stamped inside front and back. Thanks again Rick
