The Old Town canoe with serial number 171167 is a 16 foot long Otca model with a keel. It was built between June and October, 1961. The original exterior paint design is shown at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/designs/design37.gif and was known as the design number 37. It shipped on October 23rd, 1961 to Hackensack, New Jersey. The back side of the record indicates that there was a previous request for a copy of this build record from Highland Mills, New York on February 12th, 1976. Scans showing both sides of this build record are attached below.
These scans and several hundred thousand more were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others as you probably know well.
