The Old Town canoe with serial number 133953 is a 16 foot long, CS (common sense or middle) grade, HW (heavy water) model with open spruce gunwales, ash decks, ash thwarts, ash seats, a keel, a floor rack, and sponsons. It was built between November, 1941 and February, 1942. The original exterior paint color was light Yale blue. It shipped on June 11th, 1942 to New London, New Hampshire. The back side indicates that a copy of this information was sent to Claremont, New Hampshire on May 17th, 1971.
The Old Town canoe with serial number 96270 is an 18 foot long, CS (Common Sense or middle) grade, Otca model with open spruce gunwales, ash decks, ash thwarts, ash seats, a keel, outside stems, and a floor rack. It was built between November, 1927 and March, 1928. The original exterior paint color was brilliant green with a half inch gold stripe and turned down ends. This was probably similar to the one shown at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/designs/design33.gif with a green body color instead of the red one. It shipped in April 23rd, 1928 to Long Island City, New York.
