Curious about Wooden Canoes
Hi, could you please give me the build records for Old Town canoe serial number 126941-16? It appears to be a CS grade OTCA. Thanks, Bob

LOVES Wooden Canoes
Bob: The Old Town canoe with serial number 126941 is a 16 foot long, CS grade, OTCA model with open spruce gunwales, a floor rack and a keel. It was built between March and July, 1939. The original exterior paint color was dark red. It was shipped on March 10th, 1941 to Newark, NJ. A scan of this build record can be found by following the link at the attached thumbnail image below.
These scans were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others as you probably know well.
