Odd

Being in northern Wisconsin, I’ve seen more than my share of Thompson Canoes. This one is a little different. I believe it is a Ranger model with half ribs. I had only seen half ribs in the Hiawatha previously. The other odd thing is that there are a few ribs that are butt jointed on the keel line.

I had (was caretaker) of a Thompson we ID'ed as a Ranger that had 1/2 ribs.
It also had long decks, but was built somewhat crudely, a strange boat.
