Need Birthday For New (to Me) Old Town 16 Footer...

Checked into my computer at 1:00 today & saw this beauty in Webster. The fella must have just listed it. Asking price was $190. Got it for $150. The nice blue Old Town (I assume) paddles included. Judging by the really thin stems it looks to be a 50 Pounder, but I don't think they cane in 16' flavors. Serial # is 126196-16. Mr Benson sir?


Got to talking with the fella. Turns out he's into restoring old furniture. And hates to cane chairs. So... maybe I'll get some fun caning jobs out of the deal as well!

The Old Town canoe with serial number 126196 is a 16 foot long, CS (Common Sense) grade, Yankee model with open spruce gunwales, ash decks, ash thwarts, ash seats, and a keel. It was built between December, 1938 and April, 1939. The original exterior paint color was dark green. It may have shipped on May 19th, 1939 to Rochester, New York.
