Hi All, I'm new to forums so apologize if my questions / etiquette is out of place. I've got a legacy Old Town Canoe with sailing kit that is in great shape and I am hoping to get some information on. The Serial Number is 186033. I don't know much about it and I'm considering selling it, I've seen a wide range of prices, is there price point I should aim for?

Welcome, the Old Town canoe with serial number 186033 is a 16 foot long Wahoo model with a lateen sailing rig, white decks and a white hull that weighed 83 pounds. It was built from February to March, 1971 and shipped on May 5th, 1971 to Warsaw, Indiana. The back side of this card indicates that the hull had some patches and thin gelcoat. These scans and several hundred thousand others were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. It is possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match your canoe. You have a balsa wood core in the hull at least. The information at http://www.wcha.org/forums/index.php?threads/57/ was written for valuing wooden canoes. Most of the principles will apply to yours although the price range will be much lower. There is a similar one currently listed at https://www.ebay.com/itm/332696004906 for $990 which seems very optimistic. Most old fiberglass canoes sell for closer to $300.
