Hi,
looking to replicate the long decks on a Thompson Hiawatha but haven't been able to locate any photos. If anyone out there has a pic, I'd be greatly appreciative.
Thank you,
bn

Hi Nate,

You might have found them on a search, but here are the pics your looking for.

GREAT, thank you so much Paul! I had the deck pieces milled out of cherry-I believe the original are mahogany-I needed some help figuring out how to put them together as I only had one half of one deck to go off of. Now I get to see if I can get the bend on the jig I made. Any thoughts on bending cherry.....?

Cherry bends nice when soaked and steamed for the 45 minutes or so.

I would not shape to the proper size until bent though as you may get split out on the edges. In other words make the triangles bigger then necessary, bend and then cut to size to fit between the inwales.

Good luck,

Paul

Thanks for that, I appreciate it Martin. It helps to see what it's supposed to look like installed. These must have been for the tricked-out models of the Hiawatha. I wonder if there were any other differences besides the decks....
