In a previous post there was mention of the fact that Kennebec canoes had outwales that are nailed on and due to age and being old wood can be tough to remove without damage. I mentioned a tool that I had borrowed from a fellow restorer that aids in removal.
Each tool is worked in on either side of the rib and even leverage from each one will apply pressure to pull the outwale away without damage.
