Kayak Paddles

I would like to make some 2 part Kayak paddles, I don't know what it is called but I need the piece that the shafts fit into and locks in 2 positions. Does anyone know of a source. Brass would be nice.

It's called a ferrule. There are several sources if you do a Google search for paddle ferrules. Most of the good ones these days are either stainless or carbon tubing. You might still find a brass one, but they don't seem to have the durability, security or strength of the newer models.
