Curious about Wooden Canoes
Good morning everyone,
I am trying to find out some information regarding the original Queensferry canoes and the Lochaber canoes built by a gentleman named John Marshall.
I believe that John Marshall was a boatbuilder and a keen canoeist in the town of Queensferry, on the River Forth, back in the 1920's and 1930's.
John also published a book, way back in the 1930's, called Canoes and Canoeing.
Would anyone have an contact details for any of John's relatives?, or does anyone know if John's original company/workshop/boatyard is still operating?.
Maybe there is a Canoe Club, still running that has some information about John and his canoes.
Many Thanks
Tucker
