Help identifying canoe and material

Hi. I’m looking for help identifying the canoe with the pictured serial number (XTC86371H203).

I know it’s an Old Town but curious as to the model and the material it is made of.

Bonus question: Has anyone ever seen the serial number printed on an attached label like this? All Old Town serial numbers I’ve seen are engraved into the side of the hull. Any idea why this one is different?

Welcome, the scanned records stop around 1983 so we don't have any additional information available to share about this canoe. The information at https://www.usps.org/national/safety/HIN/HIN.pdf indicates that it was made in August, 2002 for the 2003 model year. The link below has their canoe catalog from 2003 so you can probably identify the model and material from the dimensions.

Most Old Towns have the serial number stamped in the hull along with the paper label as shown below in another example from 2003. Yours may have been accidentally skipped. Good luck,

Yes, the top of page four in the catalog at the link above describes it as being made of "Oltonar/Royalex."
