Does anyone know if Essex Industries is still in business? I've purchased thwarts and seats from them over the years. I tried to google them today and the website can't be reached. Any insight would be appreciated.

As a follow-up, I have used their replacement parts on the OT Royalex canoes I rehab. and or own. I find it is one heck of a lot easier to simply buy their seats than to deal with repairing pressed cane or making new woven seats. A short while ago I noticed that they seemed to be shifting towards webbed seats. I honestly cannot stand webbed seats so I reached out to them to find out what is going on.
I recently heard back from Preston Mitchell, Plant Manager. He told me they continue to offer caned seats and offered his phone number if or when I need them (518) 942-6671 Ext 403 He describes himself as "a bit old school" suggesting the phone is the best way to reach him.
