Endeavor is finished

JClearwater

Wooden Canoes are in the Blood
It’s a 1914+/- Morris, 16’, Model A Type 1. Mahogany decks, thwarts and seat frames. Floor rack and ‘D’ shaped outwales. No keel, never had one. I striped the yellow paint, replaced three ribs, backside repair on two others. Several feet of planking, mostly in the ends. Tips of both stems, ends of all four inwales, tips of gunwale caps and outwales, floor rack was broken is three places. Canvas, varnish and paint. Varnish inside was three coats of Epifanes gloss followed by two coats of Epifanes Matte. Decks, thwarts, seat frames and floor rack is McClosky Man of War semi-gloss. Paint is Kirby #35 Putty and custom Kirby ‘Smoldering Red’ which is half way between Kirby Penn Yan Red and Penn Yan Chinese Red. I did not do the pinstripe, gold leaf or lettering. I am quite happy with how it turned out.

We are planning on bringing Endeavor to the Assembly in July.

Jim

PS ; forgot to include the yellow paint shot.

Stevens, are you trying to give me a heart attack!! "Endeavor" is the American way to spell the word, "Endeavour" is the English way to spell it - they are both correct. God help me .....

Thank you everyone for your kind comments. It's appreciated for sure.

Mark G., Steve L.,
Thanks for your advice regarding the installation of the riveted stem bands. I think I will start another thread on how I did it.
