Interesting old Town canoe for sale for $4500. serial number is most likely 112008 instead of the 2008 the selller indicates. To his credit, quite often the digits are hard to read. The diamond head bolts are a give-away since Old Town didn't start using them until after 1920.

The build record for the Old Town canoe with serial number 2008 is missing,the one for 112008 shows a 7.5 foot long dinghy, and the one for 120081 is a 15 foot long rowboat so the identification of this canoe will take some more effort. It appears to be much newer than an Old Town with a four digit serial number as Gil mentioned. I will be very surprised if this sells for $4500.

I wrote the wrong number. It was listed as 2088. I think 112088 will likely fill the bill. That would mean a 1930's canoe which the thwarts and deck cutouts also indicate.
