The Old Town canoe with serial number 93891 is a 17 foot long, CS (Common Sense or middle) grade, HW (Heavy Water) model with red Western cedar planking, open spruce gunwales, oak decks, oak thwarts. oak seats, a keel, a floor rack, and rub rails. It was built between February and May, 1927. The original exterior paint would have been similar to the one shown at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/designs/design23.gif which was known as the design number 23. The colors were matched to a paint sample that had been provided. It shipped on May 21st, 1927 to Buffalo, New York. This scan and several hundred thousand more were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others as you probably know well.
