Hi Lew,
Old Town 198831 is, as you suspected, an 18 foot Guide model canoe... it was built between January and March of 1974... came with a keel and was painted dark green, then shipped to Bertrand's Sports Shop in Green Bay, Wisconsin on March 7, 1974. An inquiry was made in 1978 from a party in Manitowoc, WI.
Scans of front and back of this record are below. I know you're a WCHA member, but others here may not be aware that scans of approximately 210,000 records were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others.
