Do you have build information for Old Town 18-foot # 106626, with mahogany decks thwarts, etc.?

Double check your numbers. It's not a Guide model, but everything else fits - number 106626 is on a 18' Otca Model in AA Grade delivered to Bar Harbor ME in October of 1931. It had Mahogany trim, a keel and was painted Dark Red. The build record is attached.

Scans of approximately 210,000 records were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. Additional information about the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/records/ if you want more details. Please join WCHA or make a tax deductable contribution so that services like this can continue. See http://www.wcha.org/wcha/ to learn more about the WCHA, http://www.wcha.org/wcha_video.php to view a 10 minute video about our organization and http://www.wcha.org/join.html to join. If you are already a WCHA member, THANK YOU!

It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match your canoe. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions.

18' Otca shipped in 1931

Thanks. We have owned the canoe since buying it in Bar Harbor in 1969 and renovating it, including recaning the seats. The original information we got many years ago indicated it was built in 1938, so we are delighted to have the correct build slip.

We never guessed the original was red. It has been green since we have owned it. It needs re-canvassing again. Maybe this will make us think about it. The interior, decks and seats are still beautiful.

Yep, and that looks like an Otca. It looks like the outwales have been replaced ---EDIT my mistake, After looking at the close up of the seats, I think they are mahogany, but have been replaced as well as the tips of the inwales.
