big wood

Andre Cloutier

Firestarter. Wicked Firestarter.
Yesterday Rob and I split our load of big pine, as wide as 18.5" and up most 17' long. Small ones were 16" and 15'. They dont make trees like this much anymore; guideboats anyone?

There's big, and then there's BIG. Makes my 'giant' 10" wide long white cedar look like saplings.

Thanks for posting the vintage photos. My father worked in the era of huge trees on Vancouver Island and these images reminded me of that time. Andre do you have any idea where these photos were taken?

Unfortunately i dont, they were lifted from a facebook page titled 'time travelers' in which members post all sort of historic images. If you are on FB, give it a try, there are some great ones.

What are you guys going to do with the wood?

I have a few large trunks to be cut and I'm not sure what to do with it.
