Good morning,

I know that this is mostly a wooden built forum, but any help would be wonderful.

I recently acquired a canoe and am interested in a value and history of it.
It is an Atkinson, fiberglass w/ Kevlar reinforcement. The wood trim has been replaced, stained and varnished. I do know enough that the trim should have been ash and left natural (so I am told). Measuring around the rail it is 17'2".

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The S/N is as follows AOT00321D197

Thanks

The hull identification number you provided can be interpreted with the information provided at http://www.boatsafe.com/nauticalknowhow/hin.htm to show that it is from April of 1997. The AOT at the beginning confirms that it is an Atkinson as described at http://uscgboating.org/content/manufacturers-identification-detail2.php?id=16466 in more detail. The information at http://michigan.auto-us.org/322288-atkinson_boat_co.htm indicates that Gene Atkinson was the owner and the page at http://www.yellowpages.com/whitepages?from=AnyWho&first=gene+&last=atkinson&city=&state=MI gives his current phone number. He may be able to provide more information. Most old fiberglass canoes commonly sell for a few hundred dollars. There isn't much more that anyone here can tell you. Good luck,

Benson
