But I'm not giving it! However, there may be a really interesting story for those of you in the UK and Canada that may want to take this one up.

Here is a scan of a glass plate positive I recently acquired:

Inked in white above the frame is "THE WHITE CANOE" OIL PAINTING / SIR ALFRED J. MUNNINGS, P.R.A

and below is ROYAL ACADEMY, 1944

A quick google search yielded some information, including the images below. If someone wants to look into this further, it could be a nice article for Wooden Canoe.

Leave it with me Dan and I will get Sherlock Holmes on the case. I will have a word with you at Paul Smiths; an interesting research project for the darker evenings later in the year . The Munnings Art Museum is near Colchester not too far from me so that can be an early visit. Nice find!
