Scans of these build records can be found by following the links at the attached thumbnail images below. These scans and several hundred thousand more were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at
http://www.wcha.org/ot_records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will join or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See

It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if these descriptions don't match the canoes. It is not unusual to find Old Town's diamond headed bolts that were used to repair canoes from other manufacturers. White used serial numbers briefly from the late 1940s until the early 1960s when Bub King was running the shop. The format was xx-yy-zzzz where xx was the length in feet, yy was the last two digits of the year, and zzzz was the sequential serial number. However, there are no known White records to verify any of this. My guess is that you have a White since the Old Town records for 47303 and 147303 don't show a 20 foot long canoe. The charts at
http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/oldtown_chart.html may help if you want to estimate the age of an Old Town canoe from a serial number in the future. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions. Good luck with the restorations,
Benson
