build record
The Old Town canoe with serial number 154060-18 is an 18 foot long, square-end CS (common sense or standard) grade, paddling model with open spruce gunwales, half ribs, an outside stem, a painter ring, and sponsons. It was built between May and September 1950. The original exterior paint color was dark green. It shipped on June 9th, 1951 to the U. S. Gypsum Co. in Lisbon Falls, Maine. A scan of this build record can be found by following the link at the attached thumbnail image below.
This scan and several hundred thousand others were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at
http://www.wcha.org/ot_records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will join or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See
http://www.wcha.org/about-the-wcha/ to learn more about the WCHA and

It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match your canoe. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions.
As to the value of your canoe, it is difficult to make any kind of comment without knowing the condition of the canoe -- photos would be usefule -- and its location. Even with such information, it is difficult to make a value estimate -- for a discussion of determining value, see the post at:
