Enthusiastic about Wooden Canoes
Hello,

I need some pictures to get some visual background of these canoes. I have a boat that looks like it is from 1903 or later according to my catalog research and forum reading. What are your serial numbers and what is your suspected age?

I have:
Heart shaped decks, carry thwarts, front seat hung from braces attached to the ribs directly, round logo still intact on bow. White oak covered gunwales that are fastened with a rivet or something similar - not sure how to fix those yet they are all corroding out and releasing the gunwale.

I have my own pictures to add in the future to document everything.

Here is a 1918 Racine with sponsons. Not sure of the serial number. Long decks. Rivets.

Here is how I removed the rivets....
I used a carbide ball end burr to remove the peen from the rivet, then started it out with a nail set.
What appear to be rivets along the decks were actually long copper nails. Struggled to remove those. Ended up drilling the heads off.
New rivets were purchased from Jamestown Distributors.
