FANCY A DATE?: Each year the WCHA produces a calendar, made by members for members and many more. The 2024 edition is currently in print but this is an example from this years stunning calendar. WCHA member Nick Dennis improvises with a paddle as a selfie-stick to snap himself in his 1900 Peterborough. WCHA members should dust off their cameras and start snapping for 2025; you never know, you could be featuring! #woodencanoeheritageassociation#canadiancanoemuseum #woodencanoes#peterboroughcanoe

TAKE PRECAUTIONS: When Canoodling with a partner the gentleman should always take precautions. Here Reid is sporting a natty hat which gives adequate protection to his ears and nose. Becky on the other hand is contemplating the size of worm needed to entice a Trout for supper. Summer is here and remember folks; it’s just for fun! #woodencanoeheritageassociation #woodencanoes #redcanoe #canadiancanoemuseum #cndncanoemuseum

HAPPY 4th JULY: Independence occurred in 1776 but a wooden canoe allows you freedom every time you use it so go paddling. It‘s slightly ironic that this post is made by an Englishman on behalf of the WCHA

OUR CHILDREN ARE OUR FUTURE: It was great to have so many children engaging at events during the WCHA Assembly at Paul Smiths. Some are returners whilst others are new. May the group of youngsters grow and prosper. #woodencanoeheritageassociation #paulsmithscollege #adirondacks #saranaclake #canadiancanoemuseum #woodencanoe

PIPING IN THE CANOE: One normally associates piping in the Haggis with Burns Night. Here Tom Harrison captured an assembly attendee piping in the canoes at Paul Smiths College for the WCHA Assembly #woodencanoeheritageassociation #woodencanoes #canadiancanoemuseum #paulsmithscollege #adirondacks

IN SEARCH OF UTOPIA: The Roanoke River is North Carolina’s Amazon. It begins in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia and flows 410 miles into the Albemarle Sound in Northeastern North Carolina. The lower third (almost its entire length in NC) is all flat water, making it ideal for paddlers as it flows through the Coastal Plain with no rocks. This has to be close to Utopia.
