Hello I picked up a 16 foot old town penebscot canoe hull id number is :XTC39159M82A any information will be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Welcome, the Old Town canoe with serial number 239159 and hull identification number XTC39159M82A is a 16 foot long Chipewyan Penobscot model with aluminum inserts in the rails that weighed 80 pounds. It was built in July, 1981. The original exterior color was yellow. It shipped on November 2nd, 1981 to Schenectady, New York. The back side of the card indicates that the rebate for this canoe was claimed on April 27th, 1982 from Averill Park, New York. Scans showing both sides of this build record can be found by following the links at the attached thumbnail images below.
These scans and several hundred thousand more were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others.
