Old Town #158263

The Old Town canoe with serial number 158263 is a 17 foot long, CS (common sense or middle) grade, Otca model with half ribs, a keel, outside stems, and a bang plate along the full length of the keel. It was built between August and October, 1952. The original exterior paint color was white with a half inch orange stripe and turned down ends. This may have looked similar to the one shown at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/designs/design27.gif which was known as design number 27. It shipped on April 17th, 1953 to Scranton, Penna. This scan and several hundred thousand others were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others.
