Old Town 153141 is a 15 foot, CS (common sense) grade fifty pound model canoe completed between July 1949 and September 1950. It has white Maine cedar planking, open spruce gunwales and a keel. It was painted dark green (yeah I know it's hard to read, but that's what I'm seeing) and was shipped to Camp Chateaugay in Lyon Mountain, NY, on March 31, 1950.

I worked at Camp Chateaugay from 1972 through 1989. They had about 10 Old Town (green) canoes. They were used on Chateaugay Lake by the campers and also trucked to various locations in the adirondacks for trips. They were abused and neglected canoes. I bought this one and an 18 ft canoe for $100.00 in 1975. Both needed new canvas, the 15 ft had broken gunwales and no center thwart. I found a gentleman in Colton NY who recanvased the 15' in exchange for the 18'. (in 1976 or 77)
The wood work on the 15' is all original except the gunwales that are now mahogany outside and ash inside. I also found a carrying yoke that was permanently mounted as the center thwart. I also have an Old Town spruce paddle that is probably the same era as the canoe.
The canoe is now with me at Big Moose lake in NY where I live.

Sounds like you got a very good deal on a nice canoe, with some great history too. Glad it found a good home.
