Cedar Island Canoe

I'm working on my Cedar Island Canoe by Thompkins and Son, Virginia Beach, VA. The tag has this info on it and the # 109404. Does this number mean it was built in October, 1994? Possibly the 4th built? Also, I'm looking for any general information on Mr. Thompkins and his canoes. Not much info on the net.

Tom Thompkins used to be at 2204 Shingle Wood Way, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23456, 757-427-3454, Tom@CedarIslandCanoes.com or ctompkin@visi.net but I haven't traded messages with him in nearly a decade. His old web site at http://www.cedarislandcanoes.com is gone and I'm not sure if his serial numbers contained any embedded date information. Good luck,
