The Old Town with serial number 148567 is a 16 foot long, CS (Common Sense or middle) grade, HW (heavy water) model with red western cedar planking, open spruce gunwales, a keel, and outside stems. It was built between April and June, 1947. The original exterior paint was dark green. It shipped on June 27th, 1947 to Mentone, Alabama. This scan and several hundred thousand more were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others as you probably know well.
