Unknown make - ID and advice to repair scratches

I purchased this canoe from someone in Amherst NH, he said he bought it used about a year ago with plans to sand it but never got around to it. To me it looks like fiberglass over wood, there are no marks or stickers to indicate make/model. It’s a bit longer than 15ft stern to bow.

Any help would be appreciated. Just found this site, looks like it will be super helpful I’ll poke around the forums.

Welcome aboard!
That canoe appears to be strip planked. They are professionally built, but many are home built, maybe even most. It looks to me like the fiberglass has separated in some spots where there's damage. On my ketch I deal with that by removing the loose 'glass with a sharp scraper and installing a patch. Fill and depressions or gouges. The new glass should overlap the old. Before it completely hardens, you can level it with a sharp scraper. Add more resin until it's smooth. Then sand and varnish. I'm sure others with more strip building experience will chime in. Good, luck, keep us posted.
