I fixed a bit of varnish up by the stem a couple days ago. This morning I found a soft spot where the paint was letting loose. The carpet tape I used when canvasing was the culprit. The varnish solvents had changed the tape adhesive from glue to goo.
Would have been a really big mess I had not used tacks.
