Serial number? CL159

I've acquired a 16' canvas over wood canoe. The only possible identifier on it is a stamped number on the stems- CL159. Can anyone help me figure out the maker or any other info about it?

Could be a Penn Yan Hunter model. Go to www.dragonflycanoe.com/id/ and scroll to Penn Yan on the left, and see if the deck looks like your canoe. You may also try using the "search" function, above, and plug in "penn yan hunter" to find older discussions of this canoe and perhaps some pictures you can compare to what you have.

I agree

but who could disagree with Kathy? I've got one in the barn now. And I did one a couple years ago. If it's a Hunter it will look a little stubby. But man is it stable for standing, fishing, etc.
