The Old Town canoe with serial number 11312 is a 17 foot long, CS (Common Sense or middle) grade, HW (heavy water) model with red western cedar planking, closed spruce gunwales, oak decks, oak thwarts, oak seats, a keel, sponsons, mast seat, mast step, a complete lateen sail rig, one cane seat back, and three spruce paddles. It was built in June, 1909. The original exterior paint color was dark green. It shipped on June 28th, 1909 to Darien, Conn. A very poor quality scan showing this build record can be found by following the link at the attached thumbnail image below.
This scan and several hundred thousand others were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at
http://www.wcha.org/ot_records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will join or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See

It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match your canoe. Almost any canoe can be restored but this is often not an easy decision. Fiberglass from the 1960s with polyester resins can be much easier to remove than later attempts with epoxy. If it doesn't leak badly then you may be able to enjoy it for a few years more before starting on a major restoration. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions. Thanks,
Benson
