Robert or Jim Berry canoes, Sandwich NH

Anyone have any info of canvas on cedar canoes built by either of these guys? Vicinity of Sandwich NH at least 60 years ago, maybe more.

Not far from me either. I know a long time resident of Sandwich that collects vintage woodworking equipment. I'll see if he knows. I've been wondering about NH canoe builders. I'm a newby. Does anybody know of any?

Bob Berry built wood canvas canoes in Sandwich,NH. those that I know of were built in the 50's and 60's for the Game Wardens on the New Hampshire Fish and Game. As a matter of utility they were eventually replaced by Grumman aluminum canoes. Berry canoes were usually 12 footers but I know of one 17 footer that was recently bought by a fellow in Tamworth. The rest were sent to salvaged as far as I know. The short canoes were very withy as I remember, but the last time I was in one was in the mid 70's.
