Curious about Wooden Canoes
The wood canoe gods have brought a boat across my path that is a mystery. I'm hoping the knowledge and talent here can identify it.
It's a single-thwart 15' cedar canvas, marked with the Peterborough Crest, but with the serial #C6371 - which reads like a Chestnut serial. The beam measures a surprising 36" and it is 12". Ribs are a solid 2.25". I cannot find a matching design. Thought to be from the 1950s.
Any help or thoughts would be appreciated.
