Peterborough Canoe - How old is it?

I got an old peterborough canoe today that looks like it's seen better days. When I tried finding the serial number online I found nothing. The serial number lists only go up to 18xx. The serial number on my canoe is 2450. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I found some more numbers on the bottom spine.

My guess is that it was stamped 2450 16 with the last two digits as the length in feet. Is it a 16 foot long canoe? There were some Old Town canoes with serial numbers in the 2000 range that shipped to Peterborough that I mentioned at http://forums.wcha.org/showthread.php?3170 but there is no Old Town record for number 2450. I don't know of any known serial number records for Peterborough canoes so no one is likely to be able to tell you exactly when yours was made. Sorry,

Benson

My two peterboroughs have a 4 digit model number after the serial number. Looking on the Dragonfly Page, there was a model 16 back in 1909. It's dimensions are listed as 11 1/4' x 12" x 11" deep. What does yours measure?
