Passing of long time WCHA member....

Dave Osborn

LIFE MEMBER
Jim Sullivan passed away peacefully on July 26. He was a long time member with a member number of three digits.
Jim ran the WCHA store for several years out of his home in Pecatonica, Il. He had a paddling hat that barely had room to see fabric, for all of the Hugh Clark Assembly Pins, and others.
Jim was unable to attend Assembly for the last several years, but was a frequent attendee along with his Goldern Retrievers, Misty...several years ago, and Katie, the last several years, at most gatherings in the Midwest.
He was a quiet and unassuming man that had a wealth of knowledge about canoes, canoeing, and many, many, other topics. He was a joy to be around and will be missed at our Jag Lake Chapter event in September...
Rest in peace, Jim!

Thanks for letting us know Dave. Renee and I consider ourselves fortunate to have met Jim and Katie the last couple of years at Jag Lake yet regret we will not have the chance to get to know him better or be able to share in the wealth of knowledge he must have gathered with his years of passion for wooden canoes.
