Pack Canoe - known builder?

Came across this unusual piece on CL tonight. The listing states "1940's Adirondack hand made pack canoe". 11-1/2 in length, 30" wide and 14" deep. I'm just wondering if its a one of a kind...

It is a canvas-over-stringer type canoe. These were usually home-built, either with a kit, or to plans in a how-to magazine like Popular Mechanics.
