"overseas" scheme?

i've had inquires the last few day about a canoe i have for sale in the ads. the questions have been canoe related and sophisticated but the person just informed me that they were overseas. i have not been offered anything yet so i am not sure. but i just wanted to warn anyone else getting this.

I had someone respond to my canoe ad who claimed to be from the Virgin Islands. Turned out he also had a "place" in Montana. The money was wired to my bank and he picked up the canoe 3 months later. You just never know! Be very cautious, there are lots of crooks out there. No "cash" in full, no canoe.
