I would like to find any info on an Old Town canoe I have had for 30 years an now would like to restore. The serial # is 148747----17. Thank you in advance.

Welcome, the Old Town canoe with serial number 148747 is a 17 foot long, CS (Common Sense or middle) grade, Otca model with red western cedar planking, open spruce gunwales, ash decks, ash thwarts, ash seats, and a keel. It was built between May and July, 1947. The original exterior paint color was dark red. It shipped in July 11th, 1947 to Cadillac, Michigan.
