Old Town Sailing Rig??

Hi Experts!
I just purchased a 1934 Old Town Guides Special. The build record has a mast step and seat listed as options on it. I was wondering if anybody can identify the rest of the rigging,....lee boards and outriggers as Old Town brand, aftermarket, or home made.
What do ya think??

Ama?

It looks like an ama for a polynesian canoe. I would guess that it's a homebuilt, but at that a very good home built. The lee boards look like they were made by Old Town.

Clearly, your canoe was previously owned by a creative individual... None of it, including the leeboard, is original OT equipment.

Give it a try and let us know how it sails!

So, did you get a chance to sail this rig yet? I am very interested in how the outrigger performed. Post more pictures if you can.

Jim
