The records that people have here stop at around 210,999, so this record won't be accessible. You can contact the Old Town Canoe Company, and they might be able to give you more information. OR look on the starboard stern for a US Coast Guard Hull ID Number (HIN). Those can be decoded... there's a web site on line, but I lost my link!

Sorry. I had a typo in there .

The SN is 86190 16. I am thinking this is either a 16' Yankee model or a 16' Otca. Original color appears to be dark green. Gunwales appear to be open-spruce and decks are ash. I am guessing CS grade.

The Old Town canoe with serial number 86190 is a 16 foot long, CS (Common Sense) grade, Yankee model with open spruce gunwales, birch decks, birch thwarts, birch seats, and a keel. It was built between November, 1924 and July, 1925. The original exterior paint color was pea green. It was shipped on July 14th, 1925 to Virginia, Minn. A scan of this build record can be found by following the link at the attached thumbnail image below.

This scan and several hundred thousand others were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/ot_records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will join or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See http://www.wcha.org/about-the-wcha/ to learn more about the WCHA and http://store.wcha.org/WCHA-New-Membership.html to join.

It is also possible that this could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match the canoe. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions.

Benson
